The hymenoplasty is an intervention of reconstructive surgery that consists in redoing the hymen with the patient's own skin.
When the hymen is torn after sexual contact, the membrane is broken into a "star" and the woman bleeds from the rupture of the hymen, so in hymenoplasty the hymen is reconstructed by different processes and a small hole is left for the exit of menstruation and other fluids. The points are reabsorbed alone.
It is necessary to know that there may be several reasons other than having performed coitus for which the woman may not have a hymen or not bleed during the first intercourse, such as:
One in every thousand women are born without a hymen.
- Up to 44% of women do not suffer blood loss during the first intercourse, which means that in some cultures that a bleeding test is performed it would not occur.
- The hymen can be broken by the introduction of a finger into the vagina or a tampon
- Practice exercises such as riding, swimming, cycling or gymnastics.
- Excessive menstrual flow
